Summerholidays in St. Anton am Arlberg in Tyrol - Austria

Walking

Walking in St. Anton am Arlberg in Tyrol - Austria

St. Anton am Arlberg is a real paradise for walkers. There is a network of paths through picturesque landscape making up a total distance of 300 kilometres, which was awarded the Tyrolean Wandergütesiegel - walkers’ quality seal.

A clearly-marked signposting system gives holidaymakers detailed information about their destination and route, distance, time and difficulty level. As there are so many different hiking routes throughout this extensive network of footpaths, walkers can enjoy the alpine solitude to the full.

We now even have scientific evidence that exercise in the fresh air at moderate altitudes boosts health and physical well-being: The AMAS study (Austrian Moderate Altitude Study) shows that there are beneficial effects on the cardio-vascular system, metabolism, body weight, blood count and subjective well-being – particularly for tourists suffering from typical social diseases such as high blood pressure, metabolic disorders and obesity.

Mountain-Biking

Mountain biking in St. Anton am Arlberg

Into the outdoors, from dawn till dusk. This is the unwritten motto for summer stays in St. Anton am Arlberg. Sports activities can be ideally combined with rest and relaxation at a healthy altitude. Summer days for the body, spirit and soul. Here you find exactly what you are looking for. You just have to take the first step ... and then the next ... and the next.

Certification responsibilities: St. Anton am Arlberg, awarded the Tyrolean Wandergütesiegel (Hiking Seal of Quality) in summer 2001, now also offers a good running and mountain bike network.

A total of ca. 200 kilometres of particularly picturesque tracks await joggers and mountain bikers. All routes are well signposted and designated.

Cycling in the mountains around St. Anton – more than 3,800 kilometres of official mountain bike routes make Tyrol first-class bikers’ territory. St. Anton am Arlberg is of course also part of that. The "Best of the Alps" tourist destination offers particularly attractive routes over a good mountain bike network of approx. 200 kilometres.

All routes are well signposted, designated and a scenic treat!

The designations are standardised throughout Tyrol and indicate the degree of difficulty, as in the case of ski runs.

There is something for every type of mountain biker in the St. Anton am Arlberg area: easygoing paths to get started in the midst of lush meadows and shady woods, well-selected routes with gentle climbs which are more athletically demanding, but also steep routes for hardcore mountain bikers.

Golf

Golf in St. Anton am Arlberg

Golf is booming all over the world. The fascination of putting a small white ball in as few strokes as possible into a far distant hole is infinitely compelling. And the effect that a superstar like Tiger Woods has on the younger generation of players is also great, as he drives, chips and putts his way from success to success over the fairways and greens of the world.

Everyone wants to try it out. And in fact there really are no age boundaries, you can be neither too young nor too old to begin this sport.

But where do you begin? Where can you learn to take your first steps under good direction on the manicured greens? Where do you not have to be a club member to try out a driver, a 6-iron or a putter?

St. Anton's course offers the perfect opportunity.

Rental clubs, instruction, children's afternoons, qualification for play on other courses - and all that just a few steps from the centre of the village and in really impressive alpine surroundings: every tee-off provides splendid views over the surrounding mountains. And the course itself is also mountainous.
